DBL D BAR Beefmaster Dams
Represent some of the top cow families in the Beefmaster breed. Many of our dams are progeny from some of the most recognized cow legends in the breed.
WE BUILD Our Herd
We carefully select only the top young heifers from leading Beefmaster ranches across the nation. Since around 2014, we have adopted a "high-octane" performance policy for our dams and sires to enhance our genomic performance each year. As a purebred Beefmaster ranch, our selection process for cows and heifers strictly adheres to premium overall EPDs for all six essentials. We also cull our herd in accordance with our ranch policy and the founding six-essentials of the Beefmaster breed.
DBL D BAR Regularly Monitors
Productivity and fertility with natural breeding and selective AI on all dams in our pastures. We have kept the good ones, and they like it here.
OUR CROSSED BEEFMASTER HERD For Fine Dining Experiences
DBL D BAR developed a beef meat production herd crossing some of our high carcass EPD dams and heifers with “Juice”, our purebred Jersey bull for all the benefits of Beefmaster heterosis crossing with the milk fat from the Jersey side. Our first Jersey crossed steer that we harvested provided Kobe beef style, tender and juicy, cuts with large rib-eyes and T-bones. The steer was harvested early with outstanding gains proving feed efficiency and high yield grades that we desire for our beef market customers.
